The Order of the Dusk Wardens is a monastic sect dedicated to serving the Raven Queen in her vigilance against those who would pervert the natural death cycle to prolong their lives through arcane or other means. Their doctrine involves deep personal introspection and existential awareness of one's own mortality through an intimate knowledge of oneself.  They meditate daily, turning their consciousness inward and examining the functioning of their mortal vessels, attuning themselves to the flow of the multiverse, and seeking enlightenment of their place in it.

The Dusk Wardens are highly disciplined and study martial arts not just for use in defeating the enemies of their goddess, but also to perfect their bodies and prolong their lives using natural means. To this end they also study herbalism and homeopathic remedies and even practice relatively sophisticated surgery when necessary.

In each member's training, which usually starts quite young, the Dusk Wardens study under a series of masters each with a different area of knowledge and expertise.  When the master in charge of their training deems the student adequately prepared, they are sent out into the world to gain life experience and put their skills to the test.  Wherever possible they aid followers of the Raven Queen and snuff out undead when they hear of them or run across them.  They are expected to remain in the world for a period of 3-5 years, and then return to the monastery to train the next class of acolytes.

As a Dusk Warden, you have access to a secret network of supporters and operatives who can provide assistance on your adventures, whether Dusk Warden agents in the field, temples and clergy of the Raven Queen, or just followers of the Matron of Ravens and their supporters. You know a set of secret signs and passwords you can use to identify such operatives, who can provide you with access to a hidden safe house, free room and board, or assistance in finding information. Because the Raven Queen is seen by many as untrustworthy or even terrible, these agents never risk their lives for you or risk revealing their true identities.
