Forsaken Knight Of Pelor Image

For many generations, the Knights of Pelor were the go-to force for confronting the invasions of evil. Their campaigns and battles were legendary. They were renowned, sung of, and have much prose written about them throughout all the continents, even a few other planes and planets. Yet, as all good things, the group finally came to an end while forcing a great horde of invading fiends back to the Abyss. Thousands were lost on both sides. The crusaders pushed the fiends off the Prime Material through a portal to the Abyss. They followed them there to be sure they were destroyed and to prevent the return of any others. The fiends, now on their home plane, surged with frenzy and power. In desperation, the crusaders destroyed the portal mechanism on the Abyss side, keeping the fiends from using it to return to the Prime but also cutting off their own escape route. The battle raged for another three days. Eventually, either the fiends or the knights fled. Small pockets of the knights gathered and used their magic to return home. Many others were lost and left in the Abyss, without the magic necessary to return home. They gathered and hid themselves away in a desolate, frozen wilderness where most fiends were loath to go. Some succumbed to their injuries. Others fell prey to the vile emanations of the Abyss and died, went mad, or changed to evil. Those left used all their knowledge and power to place protections around their settlement, to keep them hidden and hold the evil of the Abyss at bay. Surviving for several generations, the group and their descendants eventually moved on, either through death, to another place in the Abyss, or by finding the means or power to return home. These survivors and their descendants are known as the Forsaken Knights of Pelor.
