d8 Draconic Influences
1 Thin scales the color of your dragon grow in patches on your body.
2 Your dragon takes to walking on two legs with ease.
3 The personalities you and your dragon have swap between the two of you on occasion.
4 You can belch a harmless sensory effect related to your dragon's breath.
5 You grow hard, claw-like nails that allow you to deal slashing damage with you unarmed strikes at you option.
6 Your dragon's wings can fold seemlesly into its back.
7 Your dragon's prehensile claws are particularly suited to wield weapons.
8 Either you speak in a thick draconic accent, or your dragon speaks with an accent suited to one of your languages.

Feature: Dragon Companion

Your dragon has the statistics of a warhorse with a fly speed equal to its land speed. Its hooves are replaced by claws and it gains a breath weapon that scales as a dragonborn of your level that recharges on a short rest. The breath weapon is either a 5 by 30ft line or a 15ft cone. The damage type can be of any one type. The dragon has immunity to the type of damage dealt by its breath (unless the damage is blunt, piercing, or slashing, in which case the dragon is resistant to blunt, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical weapons). You and the dragon can speak telepathically across any distance and planes. You share a single pool of hit points (yours) and make death saving throws as a single creature. If either your or the dragon dies, you both die.

The dragon may wear armor tailored to it, as well as wield weapons of its own.

Your dragon shares all of your proficiencies, and has a proficiency bonus identical to yours.

If you cast find familiar, you may select the dragon as your familiar. It also gains a new tiny form and can switch between forms as an action.

Suggested Characteristics

To bond to a dragon is to introduce a whole new perspective into your psyche. Many dragon riders undergo drastic changes in world view when bonded to a dragon as they absorb its memories; some even become mere extensions of the dragon. Whatever the case, pride, greed, and empathy towards dragon-kind are common among dragon-riders.
