Warmind Image

Slaves captured by a powerful being long ago, warminds were put under an eternal sleeping trance state that would freeze their bodies for several centuries while their mind was subjugated to the will of their captor. Their minds were put under a kind of simulation called simulacrums that forced warminds to fight legions upon legions of enemies through hundreds of different conditions, all to research the art of war and combat. Every time they died, they would simply be revived, forced to fight again and again. Many went mad under the strain, but some of these warminds escaped, losing much of their memories but still retaining some of their experiences in the years of endless battle.

The warminds, free from their imprisonment, now have to search for a new purpose in the real, unforgiving world where death is permanent and enemies are no less deadlier than those that were faced within the simulacrum. Some run from their past, trying forget what they had done. Some revel in it, using their experiences to grow more powerful. Still others simply close this troubled chapter of their lives, forging a new life of their own. But all know - that their captors will not sit idly by as their prized possessions run amok...

Variant Warmind: Perfection Cultist

The Perfection Collective is a cult of warminds that believe warminds are fragments of a single, divine mind and if all warminds are to combine, they would ascend into godhood. Because of the controversial nature of many of the Collective's practices, the Collective is often driven out of public and operate in shadows.

But you know the truth. You know that you were part of something greater, and if only all those who had suffered were to combine forces, you would be able to accomplish anything. Even if you do not subscribe fully do the ideals, after what you have been through you still yearn for the collective safety, knowledge and wisdom of the Collective.

Variant Feature: Communion of the Perfect

You may take this feature instead of the Recollections of the Warmind.

Reverse engineering the magic that had imprisoned them, the Perfect Collective have created a way to communicate between members. Every long rest you may commune with the other collective members, drawing upon their knowledge and experience or conversely, request for assistance or backup.
