You come from a cult-like religious group known as the Hellborn. Hellborn worship fire and its destructive and restorative capabilities.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose 1 from: Intimidation, Survival, Religion
- Tool Proficiencies: smith's tools, alchemist's supplies
- Languages: You speak Ignis, the ancient language of the Hellborn. Only other Hellborn, or scholars who've specifically studied Ignis, can speak it.
- Equipment: a) a set of smith's tools or b) a set of alchemist's supplies, a set of fire-proof clothes (they do not provide any damage reduction, they just won't disintegrate in extreme heat), an oil flask, a tinderbox, and a pouch containing 10 gp
Something in your past pushed you into the warm embrace of the Hellborn. For whatever reason, you are now completely devoted to the ideals of the religion, but not necessarily your fellow religious practitioners. This means above all, you praise fire. If that means lighting a previous ally on fire, you hope they will understand it is for the "greater good". The Hellborn's religious goal is to literally set the entirety of the physical world on fie.
You gain a myriad of benefits involving fire.
- Tame the Flame. You are resistant to fire damage.
- Searing Scarring. While on fire, all your attacks deal 10% more damage.
- Fire Fiend. If you've been lit on fire, you take only 1d4 damage as a burn status effect as opposed to the standard 10% of the initial fire damage.
- Elemental Empathy. If a non-Hellborn creature within 40 feet of you is on fire, you gain 1 hit point healing at the start of you turn for every turn they spend on fire.
- Numbed Nerves. While on fire, you take 10% less damage from all non-fire sources.
- Gimme Fuel, Gimme Fire. If lit on fire, you can choose for the burn status effect on you to stay active as long as you like.

Suggested Characteristics
A Hellborn is likely far from neurotypical. All Hellborn are pyromaniacs, and many Hellborn are extreme masochists and sadists. Hellborn tend towards chaotic alignments, and are rarely good or lawful.
