You spend your time scrawling arcane markings into books and preaching the word of unseen divine beings to the world you inhabit. The idea of not existing in their favor frightens you to the extent of even making others see the insanity that you understand. You could have been called upon directly by the idols and deities that you now serve, or perhaps you might have accidentally discovered the ancient beliefs of prior worshippers. Despite the origins of your eternal servitude, you continue to seek and feed upon new prey with the ideas of arcane and divine madness that envelops your soul. You are a vessel of your deity and anyone who tries and questions your ideals is considered sacrilege to your entire being.

With your niche exploration of the mythic and divine teachings of the Pantheon and other deities, you have an underground network of contacts at your disposal that all comprehend your study of arcana. You know how to illicit meetings and receive word of mouth through multiple means and over vast distances through the usage of people, message, or even magical means. If you come across like-minded folk around the lands, you are able to speak in encoded messages that you share with them to ascertain information.
Suggested Characteristics

d6 | Personality Trait |
---|---|
1 | I retain all of my knowledge of my deity in the top of my head, and nothing else fits there. |
2 | My love for the arcana has granted me obscure knowledge of a being no one else knows. |
3 | I am new to the realm that I worship, but I am nonetheless eager to delve into the purpose of my curiosities. |
4 | I don’t want to know anything about my past because the eternal lord I serve has given me a purposeful future. |
5 | I cannot work with the likes of strangers. They do not know of the sacrifices I have made to understand such a powerful force and they should not either. |
6 | I blindly follow my deities and let them guide my every motive. I would rather them lead than a soiled husk I call myself. |
d6 | Ideal |
---|---|
1 | Corruption. I want to let my words consume the minds of the masses and let the words of my idols be spread like a cursed wildfire. (Chaotic) |
2 | Unity. Everyone shall listen to my prayers and begin to open their eyes to the world of my madness and spirituality. (Neutral) |
3 | Truth. Everyone must know of the deity that I bestow my life's work in and understand my motives for justification. (Lawful) |
4 | Freedom. The binds of the normal gods have been defied by me and I will choose to spread the word of the exotic. (Any) |
5 | Terror. My deity shall reign supreme and my preaching of them will be the reason why people cower in fear at the mention of my name. (Evil) |

2 | The deity that has bestowed me their eternal grace demands that I sacrifice for them. I will do their will unto them. |
3 | I cannot help but feel at home with the world I have delved into with my research. My books are my sanctuary and the writings my family. |
4 | I feel a strong connection with the deity I pray to and preach of. Perhaps with greater understanding, I can begin to communicate with them. |

2 | I often find myself seeing glyphs and writing in the world around me. Whether it is my insanity getting the best of me or symbols of arcana is hard to tell. |
3 | I cannot stand and remain docile while someone speaks ill of my teachings. I must silence them at once or it will cause great torment to me. |
4 | I am convinced that no one listens to my deity other than myself. It is my duty to remove them of this curse and expose them to the light. |
