You were once a familiar, but are now a human. This could have happened several ways. Maybe your master was a powerful wizard and used their own power to turn you human, maybe they were a warlock and they used their contract to turn you human, you might have touched an ancient magic artifact, or maybe you were part of an experiment gone wrong. Whatever the reason, you are now a person, and no longer bound to your master as their familiar.

Living your life with a magic user as their familiar, you have seen many things. You have knowledge of many things when it comes to magic. You tend to have more knowledge of what kind of magic your master used though than the others. You also may have journeyed with your master, as they may have been an adventurer, so you may have knowledge of different parts of the world, different governments, maybe even specific people that they interacted with.
In rare cases as well, you may still be connected to your master in some way. If they are alive, you may be able to tap into that connection to ask them a question, though doing this takes a lot out of you. However, if they're dead, and a connection still remains somehow, you may be able to try and look into their memories for answers.

Turned familiars come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and their personalities differ in large amounts as well. Some may carry the traits of their old master, while others may have those of what they were. Maybe you were a raven and are attracted to shiny objects, you could've been a cat and are just a lazy person, maybe your master was an evil sorcerer and you wanna finish what they started. Whatever the case, your traits, bonds, and flaws, are all shaped by you.
