I am a connoisseur of, well, everything! But I'm not just a total lush for leisure. I'm, like, competent, as well.
My great-grandparents crossed over to the Material Plane a little over a century ago as part of a combined group of Feywild and Material Plane inhabitants who were concerned with the number of creatures who were traveling between the planes either accidentally or with ill intent. The group called themselves the Feywild Border Initiative and they stationed "guardians" on both sides of every well-known Convergence point (or "fey crossing") to protect against threats in either direction and to help wayward travelers return safely to their Plane of Origin.
Since those early days, my family has largely stayed on the Material Plane side, with occasional trips back to the Homeplane. I have numerous siblings and cousins, and our parents have ensured that all of us (with the loving exception of my brother, Chadykos "Soupforbrains") are well-trained in combat, magic, and diplomacy. They felt this was important for our personal growth and protection, as well as to enable us to function as sort of unofficial cross-plane ambassadors. And, though we all hope the need never arises, they also wanted us to be well-equipped in the case of any future conflict or political unrest, on either plane.
However, we were also raised to appreciate the finer things in life and embrace all the goodness that the worlds have to offer. I strive for excellence in all that I do, but I never let work weigh me down. Any period of work should be followed by twice as much play! After training from a young age as a magic-wielding archer, my hedonistic tendencies have led me to a life as a traveling critic (food, entertainment, lodgings, etc.) of reasonable repute. The freelance work I do, plus the profit from my own quarterly publication (Aereon's Adventuring Authority), provides sufficient income for survival and basic comforts. However, the luxury I enjoy comes primarily from the free and deeply discounted services I receive in exchange for my reviews (see "Freebies & That Low-Low" feature). Keen to supplement my income, keep my skills sharp, and promote my "brand", I occasionally take on side jobs for extra cash. T

Suggested Characteristics
Criminals might seem like villains on the surface, and many of them are villainous to the core. But some have an abundance of endearing, if not redeeming, characteristics. There might be honor among thieves, but criminals rarely show any respect for law or authority.

Although your capabilities are not much different from those of a burglar or smuggler, you learned and practiced them in a very different context: as an espionage agent. You might have been an officially sanctioned agent of the crown, or perhaps you sold the secrets you uncovered to the highest bidder.
