Something haunts you. A horrible accident you caused, someone you killed, or something you said you can never take back. It eats away at you. You wish to forget those eyes, the eyes of the person you can't help but think about, whether it's the brother you killed, the friend you wounded, or the parents you ran away from and never saw again. You may have had a wealthy upbringing, where you used your position to shun someone the whole kingdom now despises and you can't take back, who now is trying to kill you, or you may have had a poor upbringing and left to seek your fortune, leaving your parents and sibling to die from an attack on the city. No matter what, you want vengeance. You may want vengeance for the family you couldn't protect, or the evil force that caused you to kill your own friend. You may even be on the run from the law.
Having been shunned by those that call you criminal, or feared by those that suspect you've done something awful, the Dark Ones have accepted you. You can see better in the dark and have a plus one in wisdom.
