Unkindled Image

Disclamer: the following content is strictly relevant to my homebrew campaign. I am sharing it merely because my players need access to it, and I am aware that it might be unbalanced for a normal dnd 5e setting like Forgotten Realms. Casual  readers have been warned.

You do not remember your life before the day you saw Tharadonn. The Fire was so majestic, so hypnotizing that you could not refrain yourself from jumping into it. However, you did not burn. The First Flame blessed you with knowledge, branding you with its unmistakable mark: your veins glow red-hot. Some cultures worship unkindled as messengers of the gods, others fear their misterious power, but people will always bow before those who bear the mark of the First Flame.
Figure out out with the help of your DM if your life was before you became unkindled, and how it changed after. Did someone tell you how your life was before you threw yourself in the fire? Or did you have to start your life anew? Did you become a herald of peace, or did you devote yourself to magical and weapon training?

If you are 10 feet or less away from a bonfire flame big at least two cubic feet, you can use an action to look into the core of the charcoals. If you do so, you extinguish a cubic foot of fire as a material component to cast scrying, but you see the images into the flames and you cannot hear.

Suggested Characteristics

Unkindled don't remember their lives before their change. After they return to the civilization they are treated like godly beings, and get used to a very different lifestyle than most people ever experience, and their personalities reflect that upbringing. "Unkindled" is a title that comes with an expectation: people think that they are going to magically change their lives for the better, banishing evil, or maybe ending a war with just a few words. They are trained as intact diplomats, unstoppable soldier or mighty spellcasters. Some of them feel too much pressure, seeing themselves as not up to the expectation of others; some become arrogant, using others as pawns for their goals: the best and the worst people can be found among unkindled. Regardless of their inclination, each unkindled is deeply affected by the elitist process they go through.
