You have spent your life in a pit or a ring, trading blows with other experienced hand-to-hand combatants. You aren't accustomed to nice things, spending your nights in your city or town's underground scene. You aren't necessarily a criminal, but many of those you know are.
- Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, choose one from Medicine and Intimidation
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set
- Languages: One of your choice
- Equipment: A healer's kit, a costume, a set of common clothes, a memory of a loved one (letter, lock of hair, or trinket), and a pouch containing 10 gp
You know where to look to find the dark, hidden places in towns and cities. Your experience with the less-than-legal side of fighting for entertainment has given you a keen sense of who to talk to and where to go to find the places that are hidden from the law. You are more aware of illegal activities and sketchy enterprises, and you can easily find a city or town's speakeasies, illegal fighting rings, and black markets after only a short time exploring and investigating.
Suggested Characteristics
You haven't survived in the slums by being naive and gullible. A ring fighter might prefer to be alone, to the point of having a hard time trusting people enough to form relationships.
