You were a member of the Silver Armies for years, and likely rose to prominence in some way or another. Whether you were an actual GemBlade, or merely a normal conscript, you left for some reason after years of faithful service.
Work with your DM to decide whether you left in disgrace, or merely took a well-deserved retirement. Also decide on a rank for your character and whether they were a part of the Air Corps. or the Ground Corps.
