From the moment you stepped onto school grounds, the students and faculty had you pegged as belonging to a clique. Your clique determines who it's difficult to interact with and what kinds of social challenges you might face.

No matter what sort of trouble you might get into, so long as you haven't been expelled, you benefit from the protection of school faculty and staff. This includes various wards and apotropaic charms, and protective wards that prevent common sources of danger from doing you any permanent harm. School administrators are also likely to intervene on your behalf if you get into more mundane trouble, at least until such time as you can face the school's discipline. In return, you're expected to follow certain school rules of attendance, dress, and behavior or accept the appropriate punishments for violating those rules.
