Embodying the crab, Cancerians are security conscious, very reluctant to leave the safety of their abodes into the dangers of the outside world.  As such, they often present as shy and closed off individuals who retreat from hurtful situations.  Those fortunate enough to have a Cancerian in their lives are aware of the nourishing presence they often carry.  If a Cancerian can learn to overcome their fear of being hurt and lay bare their softer side, they can bring home to any situation they enter.

Cancerians are empathetic and creative, sometimes to the surprise of those that do not get past their personality's tough outer shell.  It is this shyness that brings Cancerians to deeply love those they are already close to, as those individuals are the only ones Cancerians show their true colors.  As such, while they can serve as nurturing and reliable companions, they can also become oversensitive, attention seeking, and even manipulative on their worst days.
