You were a marionette who danced for crowds on the street, a jack-in-the-box who delighted children, or a teddy bear who had a special connection to a special child, or some other children's toy that was somehow transformed into a living humanoid. You spent years as something that brought joy and happiness to both children and adults alike, or perhaps you were discarded by a careless owner. What were you? Did you make anyone happy? What magic gave you the life you have now?
When you were given life, your perception of your role in the world changed. You are fascinated by and perhaps a frightened by the culture, laws, and customs of the wider world. Learning to live your own life is a struggle, even if your mind is committed to the task. Memories of lost friends and loved ones and the simplicity of your old life cling to your new heart. As a person who's whole world was once a bedroom, a playroom, the inside of a trunk of other forgotten toys, adventuring in the wider world is all too alluring. You must use your new freedom to see everything the world has to offer.

You understand and relate to the way a child sees the world and in turn, children seem to trust you. You are able to ingratiate yourself and integrate into any group of children as they will see you as one of them. This allows you to persuade children to act as spies and informants. When questioning a child, they will be more comfortable talking to you and more readily provide information and answer questions. As a result of relating to children, adults who do not understand or relate to children will see you as childish and be less inclined to take you seriously.
Suggested Characteristics
As someone for whom the world is new and exciting, you find it hard to rest. Your new life can be just as frightening as it is exciting and but your old life doesn't hold any appeal anymore. Former toys are restless and want to get out and experience the world's exciting pleasures and terrifying dangers alike. Even those who find themselves happy with a simple life will occasionally long for adventure.

Though you've spent just as much time engaging in play as any toy, most people don't think of you in the same way. You were once a game, either of chance or skill that was played in taverns, on merchant ships, or in back alleys. You could have been a deck of cards, a pair of die, or a set of checkers that would have helped pass time for those with an overabundance of it. Rather than being a playmate to a child, you were the vice of gamblers, the partner of card table swindlers, and the source of much arguing amongst sailors.
You are intimately familiar with games of all sorts and know the rules and strategies of any game you sit down to play. Being so acquainted with games and how they are played you are able to spot someone cheating right away, conversely you are nearly undetectable when cheating at the same games.
