Hunter of the Astral Watchtower

You are a member of The Astral Watchtower, an organization formed to shield civilization from the otherworldly horrors that reside throughout the Multiverse. As a Hunter of this organization, you investigate suspicious happenings throughout the world, as well as tracking and slaying any eldritch beasts or abominations that manage their way onto the Material Plane. Due to the dangerous nature of The Watchtower's duties you have undergone rigorous training, both physical and mental, to contend with the horrors that plague the world. As such, you are knowledgeable in a wide variety of topics that would aid you in your hunts, though the main focus of your training is survival as well as various forms of combat.

The Astral Watchtower is not a very high profile organization and as such many common folk have not heard of it; however, those who have heard of it tend to treat Hunters with respect and caution. This derives from the stigma that a Hunter carries an omen; danger is always lurking in a Hunter's shadow.

Equipment: A marking or item that identifies you as a member of The Astral Watchtower, 2 flasks of Alchemist's fire, a signal whistle, a bag of Caltrops, a small Lamp, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.

Suggested Characteristics

Hunters are shaped by their training and studies under The Astral Watchtower. Their study of eldritch horrors as well as various cults tends to lead Hunters to be suspicious of others, and to observe most situations with a studying eye. However, this does not mean they will not work in teams. Hunters often form parties to conduct their investigations together, and there are various groups within The Watchtower that employ different styles of fighting.
