You are a loyal patriot and intelligence agent of the Council of Five, who rule Amn from the capital city of Athkalta.

Languages: You can speak Common and Thorass (Amnian), in addition to one other language appropriate to the region you're in. You speak the latter fluently and with a native accent.
Equipment: A set of fine clothes and a set of commoner's clothes, both in the local fashion/style. A disguise kit, thieves' tools, a pouch with 20gp (locally minted), one of a pair of sending stones and a concealed dagger that will pass a basic weapon inspection.

You have been given a second identity that includes documentation, established acquaintances, and a disguise that allows you to assume this persona. In fact you are likely using this persona when you meet your fellow adventurers.

You also can't afford to let your guard down around strangers or in public places. There could always be a tail. Or you could *be* the tail.

Contacts

You have one of a pair of sending stones: a magic device that lets you communicate with another person holding an identical stone; In this case, your handler back in Athkatla. You are expected to give them regular updates, and be ready to receive further instructions if necessary.

You also have a contact  you haven't met yet in a settlement somewhere in the region if you need more local information, and a specific way to identify them, such as an item of clothing, a handshake or phrase.
