Judge Of The Fallen Image

You stand tall in a pedestal amongst the most holy. Your job is to act as the judge of all mortals and immortals who have intervened with the plans of the divine. You have seen even the bravest of villains cry and the most ruthless of gods crack against the sound of your hammer smacking the desk. However, not all people are easy to find, even less judge fairly. The sinners begin to adapt to your judgement: hiding in plain sight or lying with absolute confidence.

It is now your turn to catch them off-guard, instead. You have descended down into the mortal world to investigate your culprits more closely and do the dirty job yourself, finally using that hammer for more than just hitting tables. Who knows, you might even get a raise!

Choose a god, a pantheon of gods, or some other quasi-divine being who your character works under. The Gods of the Multiverse section contains a sample pantheon, from the Forgotten Realms setting. Does your character strive for fairness in every case, even if it means damning an innocent? Does your character do the opposite of that, judging people unfairly just for an extra buck? Is their boss very strict with their deadlines? Is their boss an evil god instead, sending your character to judge those who intervene in their evil plans? Are the sinners really evil?

Tool Proficiencies: Hammers (Duh), Short swords or daggers.
Languages: Common, Celestial
Equipment: You carry a notepad and pencil, some money, a dagger, and a hood to let you hide in the shadows.

Feature: Divine aquaintences

As a divine judge, those who spend their days in the divine realm have a bias towards you. You could call for the help of minor gods in combat or otherwise. These gods have respect towards you (but only you).

However, those who have been affected by your judgement aren't so helpful, to say the least.

Suggested Characteristics

The judge is (as you might have guessed) very judgmental, making it very difficult to interact with other characters in a peaceful manner. Their relationship with their boss will affect their actions, decisions, and judgement.

d4 Personality Trait
1 I am tolerant (or intolerant) of other faiths and respect (or condemn) the worship of other gods.
2 I’ve enjoyed fine food, drink, and high society among the divine. Rough living grates on me.
3 I’ve spent so long in the heavens that I have little practical experience dealing with people down below if it isn't for judging.
4 I'd rather stay hiding, investigating and judging sinners from afar
d6 Ideal
1 Mercy. I shall change my judgement if it has the chance of saving more lives than it gets rid of, even against my boss's wishes. (Lawful)
2 Charity. I always try to help those in need, no matter what the personal cost. (Good)
3 Loyalty. I will remove the impurities of this world, one by one, if it means that my boss will thrive for another decade. (Chaotic)
4 Power. I hope to one day rise to the top of my divine hierarchy. (Lawful)
5 Faith. I trust the judgement of my boss as much as I do my own. They would never lead me astray. (Lawful)
6 Aspiration. I seek to prove myself worthy of my boss's favor by my judgement of life, whether mortal or immortal. (Any)
d6 Bond
1 I will give my own life to save my boss in the case of danger.
2 I will someday get revenge on the corrupt who have slipped behind my beam of judgement.
3 It's not that I don't like my boss, but they definitely weren't my first choice.
4 I-It's not like I like my boss or anything! What do you mean?!
5 I'm totally planning to betray my boss, but you didn't hear that from me.
6 WHERE THE **** IS MY HAMMER?! Someone is dying today, I swear to (boss's name here).
d6 Flaw
1 I am a judge. Judging people extremely harshly is literally my job.
2 Anyone the same level or higher than my boss deserves my full respect.
3 I am... not very good at judging at all. I have the worst sense of judgement any living being could possibly fathom. Ironic, isn't it?
4 I am inflexible in my thinking.
5 Major trust issues. How would I know if the person in front of me is a sinner I need to judge?
6 I am obsessed with the concept of purity and will KILL to reach it.
