There are plenty of dark cults venerating evil deities or extraplanar evils that kidnap and snatch people in the middle of the night. You are one of their poor victims, maybe it was a stroke of bad luck or a situation in which you've fought until the very end, but your abduction sealed your fate, making you, in a sense, the perfect specimen for their experiments and/or indoctrination, either way, your life has been forever changed as a result.
Perhaps you've escaped your captors and have been on the run since, or you've embraced their philosophies and accepted them as your own, maybe even were brainwashed and now present yourself as their final wild card, be it their greatest triumph, or their last mistake.

By being exposed to the cult which has taken you, you have, in turn, been exposed to their secrets or, at least, the secrets allowed to an outsider who has entered their ranks forcefully. For within now you hold some of the forbidden knowledge of your abductors. Be it a vile ritual which may have transformed you forever, the name of the extraplanar being or deity they serve, the general hierarchical structure of the cult, maybe even the location of the cult's most prominent bases, work with your DM over it.

1. You are paranoid and unwilling to trust others, knowing they may be working for the cult that had taken you.
