Forgotten Veteran Image

You are a small fraction of what you once were. Left waiting for something great in the wake of the greatest event in history, abandoned hope chips away at your mind piece-by-piece, leaving you broken, a remnant of your past self. Whether a warrior or even a war hero in your past, you do not remember your courageous feats or where your battle scars came from. From toppling corrupt governments during the Fabled War to living in complete desolate isolation in the modern-day, your goal is to regain any semblance of a memory of your past self and perhaps become them once again.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among History, Intimidation, Investigation, or Survival
Languages: Choose two, one of which must be Abyssal, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial, or Undercommon
Equipment: A monster hunter’s pack (containing a chest, a crowbar, a hammer, three wooden stakes, a holy symbol, a flask of holy water, a set of manacles, a steel mirror, a flask of oil, a tinderbox, and 3 torches), one trinket of special significance (choose one or roll on the Horror Trinkets table after this background), a set of common clothes, and 1 sp.

Feature: Muscle Memory

Your body remembers more than your mind. Once on your turn in combat, you may roll 1d10 and on an even number, you may roll to hit with advantage. If you hit your target, you get an extra 1d8 additional damage, if you do not hit your target, the 1d8 additional damage lasts throughout your next two turns (you do not get to roll with advantage). You may use this once before having to take a short or long rest to replenish this ability.
