Sentinel Image

The Sentinels are known for ignoring a recruit's racial, social, national, and even criminal background if they deem the person valuable in terms of character, talent, or skill. Despite their small numbers, the Sentinels have been instrumental in the wars that have happened in Qu'alis, and therefore are vital to the survival of the world as a whole.

The Order of the Sentinels is commanded by the Curator in Lightsurge Citadel, and consists of a system of semi-autonomous national branches led by a local commander. Though there is a hierarchy, in practice this is normally defined by seniority in the Order.

The current leader of the Sentinels is Curator Ingrid Guiderius.

d6 Specialty
1 Sentinel
2 Sentinel Scout
3 Sentinel Mage
4 Healer
5 Senior Sentinel
6 Sentinel Recruit

Feature: Military Rank

You have a military rank from your time as a Sentinel. Those loyal to the Sentinels still recognise your influence, and they defer to you if they are of a lower rank. You can invoke your rank to influence soldiers and commoners and requisition simple equipment or horses for temporary use. You can also usually gain access to friendly military encampments and castles where your rank is recognised.

Suggested Characteristics

Broadly speaking, Sentinels tend to be responsible individuals with a strong sense of will. Since they serve the crown, they are usually trusted by those around them, and will be welcomed by most as protectors of the Realm.

When you play a Sentinel, consider your character's background, the circumstances of their initiation, and what being a Sentinel means to them.
