Your home was razed. Your teachers and fellow students are all dead, and you are only a few steps ahead of the forces that did the deed. You are the last vestige of your school's trainings and traditions, and the forces arrayed against you will do everything they can to stamp you out.  You may want revenge, or maybe just to be left alone. Regardless, this is not a threat one person, no matter how skilled, can hope to match. You have run yourself ragged, hounded every step of the way by their forces. If you could only find someone to trust, maybe you'll make it out alive. You might even be able to preserve the knowledge entrusted to you.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among Stealth, Arcana, Religion, or Survival
Languages: Choose one.
Equipment: You possess the only copy of a book that details your schools training and traditions.

Survivor's Guilt

Prior to becoming an adventurer, you lost everything and everyone you held dear. A darkness is threatening to consume you, and you fear there may be no hope of escape. Choose the details of the event that haunts you, or roll it on the Harrowing Events table.

d6 Survivor's Guilt
1 You were playing hooky the day of the attack drinking at a nearby pub. Seeing signs of the fighting, you hurried back to your school. You managed to steal the tome back from one of the attackers, but were seen.
2 You were sent to town to gather supplies for your order when the attack occurred. Rushing back, you fought your way to the library and grabbed the tome.
3 You fought alongside your fellow students, but were wounded and removed from the battlefield. When you came to, you were in a shed with the tome next to you.
4 Your teacher's sacrifice is why you are still breathing. With their dying breath, the begged you to take the tome and run.
5 You were given one duty for the day - guard the tome. Though successful, your fellows faces and screams haunt your dreams.
6 You recognized the attackers as coming from another school that had often cooperated with yours for training. Some people you had thought friends were among the attackers that killed all your compatriots.

Feature: No Rest

You can't stay in one place too long before your past catches up to you. You have a feral look about you that makes normal people uneasy. You dare not rest for more than a few hours at a time, and you know from past experience that asking for help usually ends in tragedy for anyone compassionate enough to try.

You have spent so much time exhausted that it feels natural. For each level of exhaustion you get, use the penalty that is one degree lower. If you get to stage 6, you still die.
