Battle and bloodletting has been your life for as long as you care to remember. You were raised by warriors, who taught you the use of weapons and armor, basic survival techniques, and how to stay alive in the middle of pure chaos. You might have been part of a savage mercenary company, or perhaps a brutal warrior who burned homesteads and pillaged on your own.
- Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Intimidation
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set, vehicles (land)
- Equipment: A dagger, a barbaric trophy (Consult the Barbaric Trophies table), a set of traveling clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp
During your time as a raider, intimidation was necessary. Oft times, animal skulls and hides make for a more savage and feral appearance. Roll a d8 or choose from the options in the table below to determine your Barbaric Trophy:
| d6 | Barbaric Trophies |
|---|---|
| 1 | Wolf Skull (Strapped to a shield or worn as a pauldron) |
| 2 | Deer Skull (Strapped to a shield or worn as a pauldron) |
| 3 | Bear Skull (Strapped to a shield or worn as a pauldron) |
| 4 | Bear Hide (Worn as a cape or cloak) |
| 5 | Horned Helmet |
| 6 | A drinking horn made of some beasts horn (Dragon, buffalo or the like) |
As a raider, you formed bonds with your fellow raiders that are stronger than family and sealed with years of bloodshed. Your old friends will greet you with open arms and take up arms against any enemy you find yourself facing alone. They can provide you with food, shelter, and water.
Suggested Characteristics
The horrors of savage killing combined with the dishonor of thievery leave their mark on all raiders, shaping their ideals, creating strong bonds, and often leaving them scarred and vulnerable to fear, shame, and hatred.
