This odd medieval occupation entailed literally herding bears from one town to the next. Bears were largely utilized for bloodsports like bear baiting, which involved setting up gangs of dogs to battle the bear. Many members of royalty were known to be admirers, resulting in a rise in the number of bear pits, often known as "bear gardens," being created in major cities. Villagers were able to enjoy the "fun" of major city bear baiting fights from the comfort of their own homes because to bearleaders.

You have a bear...
Choose from the list below or roll.
Feature: Say hello to my little friend...
You can roll or choose from the "You Have a Bear..." table if you have a bear. Although the bear is devoted to you, it has been trained to fight in a gladiator arena or to battle dogs in a "bear garden." A young black bear, a young brown bear, a black bear, or a brown bear are all available. The disadvantage is that because it is a trained combat bear, it can rage, and you lose control of the bear. You can lose control in a variety of ways: you lose your signal whistle; something frightens your bear; the bear becomes bloodied; and so on.
