Descendant Of The Lost Image

You are the descendant of a people lost to the annals of time thanks to a great catastrophic event such as war and plague, a natural disaster, or even the whims of the divine. As one of only a small few remaining, you have taken it upon yourself to traverse the world in search of the lost realm of your people and if necessary take revenge on the one or ones responsible. You are not just an explorer but a harbinger of both discovery and vengeance. Woe be those who stand in your way. Others who notice your heritage may find interest and curiosity in you which may be for your better or worse. Some may fear or loathe you while others may sympathize with your plight and offer aid. Either way, you are fated to shake things up.

Work with your DM to determine which lost society your character is descended from. Your DM may agree to discuss the true cause of it's disappearance with you or may withhold this information to be revealed later on through exploration and the acquisition of clues. Perhaps you find the torn-out page of a book on a kingdom vanished into the sea while searching a pirate captain's quarters for the keys to the brig. Maybe a felled dragon's horde contains a mysterious crystal which contains within it a vision of an age gone by. You never know what you may find along even the most beaten of paths.

Feature: Compass of the Fractured

Thanks to your years in search of a lost civilization you have a sturdy sense of direction even in the most tangled of jungles or barest of deserts. You have Advantage when rolling Survival for the purpose of determining your own geographic location.

If others of your heritage exist, you are able to determine this about each other automatically through observation. This does not work against a person whose physical appearance is well-disguised, but the features are too subtle to be faked for a false positive. These people will be much more willing to assist you with food and shelter, and may even be willing to follow you into battle for the common cause of restoring your people. Ultimately you are stronger united than fractured.
