Almost everyone in the regular world never thinks that there are other worlds out there. But you are what they call Awakened.
You actually travel between worlds.
You come from a very distant place. In fact, most if not all the people you encounter in the world you happen to be one wouldn't even know the name, much less the language. That is if they even believed you. You have come to this particular place as a matter of fate or perhaps your own reasons which you might not want to share.
Almost everything you encounter in this land will be strange and different. Some things you take for granted might not exist. On the same token other things that the inhabitants of this place find "normal," "common," or "every day" will be wonders to you. Things you have only dreamt of or at best read about in a book at some point in time. Regardless your mannerisms are 'different' enough that people will find you odd or interesting. Either way, it makes you strange enough to notice by those around you almost anywhere you go.

An Awakened Traveler of the Planes might have physically set out on a journey for a number of reasons, either voluntary or involuntary. Alternatively, perhaps an accident transported the traveler away leaving their physical body behind. Or maybe they travel between places and return to their home either by accident or purposely. Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and perhaps even your appearance all mark you as foreign. Curious glances are directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly/unfriendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands, to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager or fearful to learn more about your homeland.
You can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords, scholars, and merchant princes, to name a few, might be interested in hearing about your distant homeland and people.
