Perhaps you realized early on that you had a head for numbers, or maybe you started out as one of many hopeful gamblers and had an extraordinary run of luck. In many cases, this has translated directly into you being very good at seeming sympathetic and reassuring, regardless of whether or not you actually care about what you're being told. When you spend time playing games of chance with someone, they are more likely to trust and confide in you. At the DM's discretion they're more likely to simply offer up random bits of information about themselves and recent goings-on in the area than they might otherwise be.

Perhaps you're more of a charmer, and the game is more about drawing in the players and getting them to lose as much money as possible.
