Crypt Keeper

You have spent your life in the service of the dead to both protect the dead but also protect the living from the dead. You act as an intermediary between the realm of the sprites and the mortal world, performing sacred rites and offering sacrifices in order to conduct worshipers into the presence of the divine. You may not be a cleric but you do follow a pantheon or even a specific deity.

Choose a god, a pantheon of gods, or some other quasi-divine being, and work with your DM to detail the nature of your religious service. The Gods of the Multiverse section contains a sample pantheon, from the Forgotten Realms setting. Did you have a natural affinity for the dead? Or were you a child when you learned you could speak to the dead? Perhaps you were the leader of a small cult that made a deal with a deity of death.

Equipment: A holy symbol (a gift to you when you entered the priesthood), a prayer book or prayer wheel, 5 sticks of incense, vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.

Crypt Keeps are shaped by their experience in crypts and tombs or other places that hold the dead. Their study of the history and tenets of their faith and their relationships to the spirit world, shrines, or deities and ideals. Their flaws might be some hidden trait, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
