Daughter of Eilistraee

You are the direct offspring of the goddess Eilistraee. She came down and mothered a child with a mortal. This was you. You do not know why she did this, or how. Your powers manifest in a way that gives you the abilities to nurture and protect those you love and care about. You are a sorcerer with a divine soul. You know only what your father told you of your mother and your goal is to meet her some day. You are ostracized by the humans your father calls kin, and you are an abomination to dark elves that so revile your mother and races that are not drow. Your father was granted great gifts of knowledge by Eilistraee so that he could impart as much knowledge as possible to you.

(This background requires you to be a half-elf of drow descent using the half-elf variant rules and it also requires you to be a Divine Soul Sorcerer at character creation. It is a highly thematic background that requires approval of your GM.)

Skill Proficiencies: Choose any of the two following skills as a proficiency: Perception, Stealth, Performance, Insight

Tool Proficiencies: You are proficient with the horn as taught to you by your father. You were told it was one of your mother's favorite instruments.

Languages: You are fluent in Sylvan and Undercommon. You were taught this so you could communicate with the people that your mother cared so much for.

Equipment: A horn, a holy symbol of Eilistraee, a dress left to you by your mother, and a belt pouch containing 10gp from your father that he saved your entire life so you could join the cause of saving the drow people when you grew up.

Suggested Characteristics

While you were raise with social graces by your father, your experiences with people other than him can be very difficult. You find yourself suspicious of everyone because they don't fit the molds you were taught by your father. You are however extremely warm, and motherly, especially to those in need.  You are staunchly proud of your heritage, even though you are seen as either an abomination or something to be feared almost everywhere you go. You are graciously accepted by the Church of Eiliastree wherever you meet them as the clergy can quickly sense the touch of their mother goddess on you, even if you don't ever actively tell them.
