Having been approached by the Arcanum Convocation for your excellence at an arcane academy or in your independent arcane research, you have become a researcher for the Arcanum Convocation, the researchers of arcana that help to ensure the Convocation's status and power on the continent of Stralis through their knowledge of the arcane. As a researcher of the Arcanum Convocation you are one of many that work in service to the Arcanum Convocation, and while you wield some level of influence in the Convocation, you are nowhere near as influential as the High Arcanist you answer to.

Discuss with your DM which capital city you work in as a Convocation researcher, who you know at the Convocation tower in that city, how you know them, and how the Convocation came to know of you. Also determine whether you are still with the Arcanum Convocation, and what it is you plan to research for them during your journey.

Skill Proficiencies: ArcanaHistory
Tool Proficiencies: Calligrapher's supplies, cartographer's tools
Languages: Any two languages of your choice
Equipment: Your Arcanum Convocation robes, one set of calligrapher's supplies, one set of cartographer's tools, a pendant signifying you as one of the researchers of the Arcanum Convocation, a blank journal, a writing kit (small pouch with a quill, ink, folded parchment, and a small penknife), and a pouch containing 15 gp

Feature: Magic Intuition

As a professional arcane researcher for the Arcanum Convocation, you are quite versed in magical spells and effects, and find it much easier than your allies do to identify when a magical effect is in place on a person, location, or object you are interacting with. This intuition comes to you in chills down your spine and sweat on your brow. You do not determine what magic is in place, but you do come to understand whether or not it is likely a malicious effect. Additionally, you should be able to find shelter at any Convocation tower on the continent.
