Swindler Image

Gambling in taverns, testing your luck in casinos, scamming people out of their money. All of these can identify those with a swindler's background. You're knowledge of how to exploit people's desires has left you with unique skills and mass amounts of money. You know the ways to stack the deck and weigh the dice so that you always come out on top.

Feature: Stacked Deck

With your history in gambling you have the ability to cheat in game sets entirely undetectable. At any time when you try to do a sleight of hand check with game sets you may add your Wisdom or Intelligence modifier to the score, and roll for advantage.

Variant Swindler: Scammer

Instead of gambling people out of their money, you have made your share by selling worthless junk for high amounts of money through your pitch.

Variant Feature: Sales Scheme

If your character has the Swindler background, you may select this feature instead of Stacked Deck

You have a natural talent in selling anything and everything. Roll for advantage on checks that involve you trying to sell something. When you are successful on those rolls, you may roll one d4 and multiply the object's original price by that number. If you were to roll a one, you can multiply it by 2 instead.
