Your earliest memories are flashes of a warmly smiling face, a metallic ping-ting, and strong, scaled arms around your tiny frame. As you grew older, it became clear you were not quite like your parents or siblings - the scales, for one, were a big clue. When you were old enough to ask why, your parents solved this particular mystery for you:
You were adopted.
These particular dragonborn supported your exploration of this revelation by continuing to treat you as part of the family: you still helped care for the forge, oil tools, run wire, change water; you were still part of the chore rotation for the house, and as you aged, the store; and you still were not permitted the keys to the chemical cabinet until your hands proved steady and your humor as respectful as mischievous. So, you continued to learn and grow surrounded by your family’s smithing ways, their chaos, and their love.
When it became apparent you were drawn to one particular facet of this trade, your parents presented you with apprenticeship opportunities within and without the family so you could develop your skills and talents as you chose. By your teens, your work was being sold in the family shop. Your craftsmanship attracted many adventurers, contracts with guards, traveling artisan's, and the like. One busy day as you finish up at the forge and head to the shop for you shift you're met with a hooded figure. The figure being dressed in a dark blue cloak with a fancy pin holding it tightly, from what best you can tell the pin is made of solid gold and depicting a three headed snake beast inside a triangle which looks to be a dark red coloring (strange.. but I guess everyone has their own likes huh?). As he strolls up he begins asking your adoptive mother for you by name. Walking up to the strange man he explains how he has a contact who would like to set up a trade deal as well as how the contact has information you would be inclined to have. You request you take a moment to think it over giving the strange man a meeting place for tomorrow to give an answer. After talking with your family and thinking it over yourself you decide to go through with it, going to the spot to inform the strange man (who's name you still have not gotten). You let him know you'll meet with the contact and how you'll be ready for travel in 2 days time. The figure shakes your hand and gives you a parchment detailing where to meet the contact and explains how he'll leave now and inform them of you're arrival. You ask for a description of the contact so you don't meet the wrong person as that's happened before (long story) and he gives only this one price of information. "When you see them you'll know." Before whistling a horse to him and taking off. Now all packed and ready, you say your goodbyes and you're dragon-Dad gives you a gift for the road. A large finely crafted axe, the handle tightly wrapped in leather, and engraved with the family name on the middle of the head "Tezyrox". You thank him and say you're goodbyes promising to write back when you can and so you head off to meet with these mysterious people and potentially bring in even more profits for your family.
