Meraki Stillriver backstory

Her mother was Lady Bellaluna Pethorn before she married her father Count Elred Stillriver. She was a wonderful mother and kind Druid she always helped, not only her own people but outlanders, whomever needed help, got it from her, as she was a kind soul. This however displeased Meraki’s father, he didn't mind his wife had a belief outside of his own, he was more concerned that she was helping "outsiders" as he called them because he thought that one day she would help the wrong traveler and something terrible would happen, however he never expressed his concerns in that way and only forbid her from every leaving Greyhawk. One day, Bellaluna was teaching Meraki to produce fire as she may need it to seal wounds or use it when she needs light or to keep warm. Little did they know orcs were storming the walls which were protecting the land, the guards were quick to react but unfortunately some got through and stormed the city. They couldn’t have done this on their own they had to have help. Their servants ran into Bellaluna’s sacred space and alerted to them both that orcs were on the city grounds. Bellaluna knew if the orcs were already in the city it meant that the guards failed and it weren’t be long until the city was destroyed… they had to either fight with not much chance of making or flee. “Meraki, listen to me, when I tell you to, run my darling and don’t look back, then when you get to the woods find the tall old oak tree and stay there, they will find you!” Bellaluna said while grabbing her daughter’s shoulders. “Who will find me, mother?” Meraki asked, but there was no time for Bellaluna to answer. Suddenly, she heard a thumping on the mansion walls and immediately grabbed Meraki’s hand and they both ran out the back entrance, through the hallway and out the side door that lead to the stables, where she had a few minutes to explain. “Now, you remember what I told you?” Bellaluna stated as Meraki nodded. “I love you and always will, now go!” Meraki hugged her mother tightly and ran toward the woods as she did so, orcs ran toward Bellaluna with spears and swords in hand and when Meraki reached the woods she hide behind a tree stump and her mother was gone. After a few hours under the tall oak tree, a pure white husky walked over and lead her away to find the Druid people. A few days later after the Druids agreed to teach Meraki what they taught her mother, Meraki decided to go back to her city and see what’s left and what her government were going to do about the attack, the way she saw it they would either go to war with the orcs which is what she wanted or they would tighten their defensives and be more prepared if they attempt an attack again. She reunited with her father Elred and was sad to hear of her mother’s passing, she thought it was a strong possibility but when she learned the news, that thought became a reality and her heart was crushed. Later that day, her father told her that the city just decided to tighten the defensives and that he never wanted her to leave the grounds again she got very angry and yelled. “How could you?! How could you let this happen?!” She said storming towards the door, Elred then grabbed by her arm and yelled back. “You need to stay inside the city walls it’s too dangerous out there! Where would you even go!? Who will take care of you!?” He asked. Meraki then pushed him away and stormed out the door. “Never seek me, never.” She exclaimed. From that day, she vowed to avenge her mother’s death and bring down the orcs and any other vile creatures who hurt anyone the way they hurt her mother. She would learn the ways of her mother as well and heal people who needed it, this was the beginning of her journey.
