You own a small inn or tavern. You are known in your local community for the reputation your establishment carries. As the owner you spent your day making drinks, collecting coin, and using both charisma and brute strength to "persuade" drunkards to follow the rules like everybody else. Due to your position, you have learned to mingle with both captains and criminals. Over time you developed the ability to see when trouble was brewing, and how to handle it if necessary.
With patrons from far and wide visiting your tavern, you likely know a smattering of other languages and lore from across the land. You've heard your fair share of stories from adventures, put an end to a number of booze-fuelled brawls, and doled out a decent bit of advice to honest travellers in need of a friend. At the end of the day, you're willing and able to wear any number of hats to keep your establishment afloat and make sure that your patrons keep coming back.

Roll or choose one of these inn/Tavern types.
| d6 | Inn/Tavern Type |
|---|---|
| 1 | Country Inn. Your inn is either in a small town or country crossroads. Your inn commonly sees travellers with horses or livestock. |
| 2 | Criminal Den. Your inn or tavern is used by local criminals to conduct business, whether with your blessing or not. |
| 3 | Rough and Tumble. Your inn or tavern is filled with a rough crowd. It is rare that a night goes by without at least a shouting match. |
| 4 | High Class Clientele. You are used to catering to the discerning tastes of the upper crust, to get the most coin you know how to make people feel important and diffuse tense situations. |
| 5 | Adventurers' Watering Hole. Adventurers frequent your establishment, and some fakes. You hear lots of stories, some true, some outright fabrications. |
| 6 | Busy City Hangout. Your establishment tends to get rushes of clients due to its strategic location. After work everyone stops in for a pint. Great business — difficult to ensure tabs are paid. |
The owners of taverns and bars have a tight-knit community, they know town secrets and are willing to share with others in the trade. In new towns you are able to build rapport with local tavern keepers. They treat you as an ally and will assist you with whatever you need unless you prove yourself a threat or a nuisance.
