Many Kingdoms have powerful naval forces and yours is no exception, you grew up as a part of the naval system and for as long as you can remember they have been grooming you to fit their purposes, turning you into both a weapon and a tool. After years of sailing under the command of a captain your skills have finally been noticed and your training finally completed, you have received your assignment and been sent into a dangerous environment to gather information, resources and allies then await the orders from your commander to act, to strike. Perhaps you specialize in destabilising regimes, perhaps you have a unique understanding of criminals and are gathering evidence to arrest and convict a pirate lord who hides behind legitimate trade or maybe you do not know your purpose, only that you must await your orders and act when they come.

Feature: Naval Training
All Naval Intelligence Officers are veterans of the Kingdoms navy, among their finest soldiers and sailors drawn from all across the land. Over their careers, they develop a wealth of potential contacts they can use within their area of operations to secure equipment, mercenaries, supplies or information. Whenever you need to find information you may ask your DM if you can name a contact who might be able to help you in the region, if your DM agrees you make an Intelligence (Investigation) check to see if you can find your contact's present location and then you roll a Charisma (Persuasion or Deception) check against a discreet DC to see if your relationship with the contact is good or not. Either way, you may find the contact and convince them to help you, the better your relationship with them the less pressure or bribery you will have to apply to the situation and the more they are willing to give in pursuit of your goals. If you roll a 20 on the Charisma check the agent is staunchly loyal to you specifically and is willing to become a formal retainer, working with your group as a permanent NPC.
Suggested Characteristics
Naval Intelligence Officers may often seem like the lapdogs of a kingdom but sometimes that is far from the truth, many were either raised by the naval forces of the kingdom or indoctrinated at a young age and some have nowhere else to go, too many of the officers it is just another job. A place to earn gold and get their thrills.
