You lived in a small village among other drow and miscellaneous races that had escaped from the Underdark and rejected Lolth. You are second generation surface drow, meaning you have never seen the Underdark but your parents used to live there.
You became restless, sick of having to hide away in a small town for the safety of those who hated your kind. You wanted to explore the world your parents fought so hard to get to. So, you slipped out of the village limits to begin your, admittedly, reckless journey.
