The Crimson Conclave, located in Mordenvale, is a group of mostly blood hunters all trained to protect the province from extra-planar threats - for a decent enough sum of coins, of course. Though the conclave is feared by many of the common-folk, its members are the most well trained at identifying and tracking down monsters. Many members of the conclave leave Mordenvale to other monster-ridden areas. Some say they go where they're needed most, others say they simply go wherever's most profitable. For most members, both statements are partially true.
Members of the conclave undergo brutal training, training which many have to give up and some even don't survive. You, however, are one of the talented few who completed your training and have become an elite hunter because of it.
- Skill Proficiencies: You are highly trained in hunting monsters, granting you two of the following proficiencies: Arcana, Investigation, Religion, or Survival.
- Languages: As part of your training with the Conclave, you learnt two of the following languages useful in identifying types of monsters: Abyssal, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial, or Sylvan.
- Equipment: A monster hunter’s pack (containing a chest, a crowbar, a hammer, three wooden stakes, a holy symbol, a flask of holy water, a set of manacles, a steel mirror, a flask of oil, a tinderbox, and 3 torches), an amulet or ring with the conclave's insignia, a set of traveler's clothes and a belt pouch containing 15 gp.
The Crimson Conclave are known across Marhimum as elite hunters. Your membership with the conclave may strike fear into the commonfolk, allowing you to more easily intimidate someone into giving you information, or give you some amount of credibility and authority when it comes to convincing guards to allow you access to a crime scene or to interrogate a prisoner, if it's possible a monster may have been involved. Members of nobility are also likely to ask you for your services in hunting a monster if they find out a member of the Crimson Conclave is in town.
