War has been your life for as long as you can to remember. You were forced to train to be a solder from the age of 3, studied the use of weapons and armor, learned basic survival techniques, including how to stay alive on the battlefield. you were told if you came back to base before the batle was won you would be killed by your comrades. wen you were 10 your trainers threw you in to anarina and made you fight to the death against men that hadn't had water in two days! You have been part of a standing national army or a mercenary company, or perhaps a member of a local militia who rose to prominence during a recent war. after you turned 18 they let you go after you sprained your ankle and after a year your ankle healed and you started adventuring.
When you choose this background, work with your DM to determine which military organization you were a part of, how far through its ranks you progressed. Was it a standing army, a town guard, or a village militia? Or it might have been a noble’s or merchant’s private army, or a mercenary company.
