Karrnath employed great armies of the undead during The Last War. A specialized soldier was developed by them to collect, repair, preserve, and transport fresh corpses for usage by the Karrnathian necromancers. Eventually the other nations, wishing to starve the undead war machine, began deploying their own Reapers to do the same, or sometimes to destroy corpses and make them unusable.
