Called One Image

You weren't always religious, but as they say— some paths are revealed late in life. You've seen the injustices of the world for yourself, but before now you could do nothing about it. Now you have heard the voice of another who shares your sense of right. They called upon you to wield their strength and seek out your own sense of justice. For now, the whispers you hear within your mind have come to be a sort of friend, a conscience in those moments where your history failed you.

Now the voice calls you on a journey to which you felt no choice but to respond. As you set on your way, the voice grew quieter, but your devotion reminds you that it will come again. More than ever, their trust has been put in you to abide by your own justice and continue down the path— your path.

Choose a god, a pantheon of gods, or some other quasi-divine being, and work with your DM to detail the nature of your religious service. The Gods of the Multiverse section contains a sample pantheon, from the Forgotten Realms setting.

Equipment: A holy symbol (a totem you made to channel your benefactor), a prayer book or prayer wheel, 5 sticks of incense, vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.
 
Feature: True Believer

As a called one, you uphold a depth in your faith that even acolytes and religious leaders often do not meet. Whenever you meet another who worships your benefactor or a temple in which they are accepted, those who are told of your devotion are easily convinced of your faith and regard you as an ally. You and those whom you vouch for can easily find shelter and services from other devoted or accepted places of worship.

If you spend enough time at a temple that worships your deity, you can choose to make it your central place of worship. Whenever you choose a central place of worship, you and your allies are given permanent quarters if the temple is large enough to do so. The devotees and acolytes there will perform tasks if asked to do so by you as long as they are not hazardous or dangerous.
