Hunter-Gatherer Image

You grew up close to the land, relying on it for medicine, sustenance and supplies.  Whether helping to feed a nomadic clan, or serving as a hunter or forager for your village or town, or simply living off the land yourself as you travel, you have become an expert in hunting diverse prey and reaping the bounties of nature, be it rope fiber, poisonous fungus, medicinal herbs or your next meal.

Skill Proficiencies: Perception, Survival
Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism kit, poisoner's kit
Equipment: Two javelins, a hunting trap, a back creel, a set of traveler's clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.

Feature: Finder

Your keen eyes and deft hands are accustomed to scanning your environment for fine details and minute movements.  You gain double proficiency on Wisdom (Survival) checks for foraging or hunting, as well as advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks that involve trying to find tiny details, such as the latch of trick door, or the catch of a trap.  In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water and so forth.

Suggested Characteristics

Due to their shared sense of survival and mutual responsibility, hunter-gatherers tend to be highly communitarian and committed to their clan or village.  They are accustomed to cooperation and shared goals over independence and personal ends.  Hunter-gatherers, due to the harsh requirements of their work, tend to be exacting, valuing efficiency and silent focus with low tolerance for idle small talk and lollygagging.  This can come across as brusque or cold, or even hostile, to those more accustomed to the urbane guarantees of food and medicine.

8 I'm so used to working with a partner in the fields, that I think I'm built for a partner for life.

d6 Flaw
1 Sometimes I'm so focused on the ground or the horizon that I'm oblivious to everything else.
