In a past life, you were an aspiring adventure just set out on their first big adventure in the world. Unfortunately for you, you died. Fortunately for you, the Order of the Barded Phoenix discovered your body during a “recruitment” mission. Having accepted the Order’s offer of resurrection and you've completed your training, ready to get back to adventuring.
The Order of the Barded Phoenix was formed by the retired adventuring wizard Ezarius the Wise. With too much time on his hands and the ability to cast Wish he built the order due to nostalgia for his youthful adventures. Ezarius uses Wish to resurrect adventurers who died while fairly inexperienced to give them a second chance at the adventuring life, for a small fee of course. The Order spends time and resources training them, but it expects them to pay back the debt through service to the order for 5 years or a payment of 25,000 gold pieces.

Barding
The Order isn’t too keen on having it’s initiates repeat their past mistakes. As such, they make sure to train all potential recruits to avoid the fate that befell them previously. Consult the chart below for how you died and the corresponding training.

Debt
The Order of the Barded Phoenix doesn't resurrect dead adventurers for free. You are now in severe debt to the order for your resurrection. As such you are expected to serve the guild until your debt is paid, 5 years service or 25,000 gold. This service can be working as a trainer or teacher for the Order, carrying out contract missions for the Order, or "recruiting" more members (through entirely legal means of course).
