privateersmen is a person or ship authorized by a government by letters of marque to attack foreign vessels during wartime. You are one such person being brought under the sway of the captain of a Privateering vessel You've indulged in larceny on the high seas with a nation at your back and sent both the undeserving and deserving to the depth of the ocean. you have survived up to this point by twisting the rules and regulations of society to fit the needs of king and county... or at least that's what you tell yourself.

Equipment: A belaying pin (club), 50 feet of silk rope, a lucky charm such as a rabbit foot or a small stone with a hole in the centre (or you may roll for a random trinket on the Trinket Table in chapter 5), a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp

Every Privateer must justify to the world what is just piracy under the protection of a Nation but what sort of nation did you ultimately serve and the reason for you no longer serving.

 
Feature: Good Reputation

No matter where you go, people respect you due to your reputations an agent of Crown. When you are in a civilized settlement, you can get away with minor criminal offences, such as refusing to pay for food at a tavern or breaking down doors at a local shop, since most people will assume you are working for the crown at the time. In addition to this you can sell your stolen goods to the "Authorities" under the guise of Privateer Loot but are forbidden from using a local fence as they know who you work for.
