You are a service animal, trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. You may be a comfort animal trained to provide emotional support, a guide animal trained to assist a blind individual, a hearing animal trained to signal a hearing impaired individual when there's noise or danger, or a service animal trained to do work for persons with disabilities other than blindness or deafness. While some service animals work for companies that visit hospitals to provide emotional support, comfort, and entertainment, most service animals belong to an individual.
