You have spent a great deal of your life so far in study of the less approved of magics. Whether that be in a cabin in the woods alone or with a coven, or with an underground group in a bustling city, or simply in a mundane orphanage, hiding your pursuits, it has led your to some sort of arcane power. Perhaps you made a pact with a being like The Raven Queen or a powerful hag for your power, or perhaps you have always had it by your proximity to the feywild or shadowfell, or perhaps you gained your talents via copious studies of ancient tomes. Whatever path you have walked down, it has likely led you to arcane or psionic power.

Work with your DM to chose a source of your magic or psionics. Or do some trust falls then leave it up to them. Also make sure to consult with the nature of your previous study, whether that be a coven, or on your own, or whatever your witchy heart (if you have one) desires.

Witches tend to stay on the edges of society, if they interact with it at all. They are shaped by the few interactions with unique individuals such as their coven or those who would willingly go into a mysterious cabin in the woods. Those who reside in towns tend to interact with specific communities that are more accepting of those like them such as less well know libraries or community theatre groups. Their isolation may point them to less widely common ideals or mannerisms. They may not notice their flaws as anythings out of the ordinary, as they may be common in the communities they are from.
