You lived once in a small village or community as an artisan or as an apprentice craftsman. But a specific kind of humanoid killed/enslaved your family and most the other members of your community. You could flee with some friends and with some artisan tools and lived a few years in the wild, were you prepared yourself to help your resting village members. When some of your friends where hunting, some others searched for edable plants, learned how to survive and made their own hide-armor from animal skins to fight the bad humanoids. because you don't have hunters blood, but artisan's, you became member of the last group. You became very good in animal handling, because you domesticated the animals that were caught, used them to provide food and trained them to fight the bad humanoids. But one day, you were searching for mushrooms in the forest, when you suddenly saw a monument. You felt something terrifyinging, but still it attracted you. You entered the monument and whispers whispered you to look at a specific spot. There you found an arcane focus and read something and you got some powerful magic, but your animals died of fear because inside, the monument was really horrifying. You used this magic to drive the bad humanoids out. The ghosts of the monument whispered that they would drain your soul if you wouldn't give them power, but you can still use your arcane focus. You have 1000 years to complete your task by getting powerful yourself and giving the ghosts of the monument their initial power back...
