The thieves had a guild, the spies had their handlers, and even the urchins had each other. You only ever had yourself.
Life has never been easy for you, but you've been able to develop a set of tools and skills that make things a bit easier. Your travels have taken you to many locales ranging from thick, overgrown forests to dark alleys in major cities. This wide experience means you may not prove the absolute best in any given environment, but you can certainly manage just about anywhere.
You navigate the areas you've seen with ease, you stay hidden when needed, you're familiar with many cultures and languages, but most importantly you're a survivor.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among Deception, Nature, Perception, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, and Survival.
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose one from among one type of gaming set, one musical instrument, Disguise Kit, and Thieves' Tools.
- Languages: One of your choice.
You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you. In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth.
Your travels tend to take you through cities more than any other locale. As such, you've grown accustomed to traversing the many winding streets of the city over the dirt trails of the wilds.
You know the secret patterns and flow to cities and can find passages through the urban sprawl that others would miss. When you are not in combat, you (and companions you lead) can travel between any two locations in the city twice as fast as your speed would normally allow.
