You were once a charismatic pirate captain with a crew that loved you, or so you thought. Your right hand came into your cabin while you slept and stabbed you in the chest then dumped you into sea. Resurrected by spirits of the sea you woke up reborn with faded memories and became a hermit/pirate trying to start your life over again.
You have fuzzy memories from a past life but you can take time to focus on them and try and remember things more clearly. Roll 1d20 and on a roll of 10 -19 you start to see thing clearer than before and have advantage on your next skill check that relates to the thing you remembered. If you roll a 20 you have a crystal clear flashback and have advantage on your next roll of any kind until you take a short or long rest.
