
You had a life before entering the astral plane. While you may remember the circumstances that trapped you there, you've lost any humanity you once had. You have adapted to survive in this new way of life, and it has changed you.
Describe your life while trapped, and work with your DM to detail the nature of your entrapment. Were you a naïve mage meddling in magic they didn't understand? Or were you betrayed by friends who tossed you in a portal, expecting you to die? Perhaps you were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Skill Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in Arcana, Perception, Survival, or History.
- Languages: You know Celestial in addition to your race given languages. If not already, celestial is now your main language of communication.
- Equipment: You start the game with a Bag of Holding. This serves as your portal to and from the astral plane. It contains 10gp to start. This bag of holding does not have a weight limit.
When a creature that can see starts its turn within 20ft (8m) of an Astralite, they are frightened until the beginning of their next turn. This does not apply to creatures with an intelligence score less than or equal to 6.
Suggested Characteristics
Astralites are usually 6-12 inches (20-40cm) taller than their non-affected counterparts. Their skin pales considerably (except in the case of dark races such as drow, dreugar, etc.), and they are fairly gaunt. Their faces also become contorted, usually in ways that look painful or "wrong" to non-affected humanoids.
