You are a unique criminal, skilled in the arts of entry, lockpicking and property theft.  You have spent your earlier years honing your reflexes, your perception and your knowledge.  You prefer to enter, steal and leave without notice, and your fellow cadre of criminals measure success by the cleanness of the steal.  Whether you steal for necessity, for political or ideological reasons, as a practiced art or just for the thrill, the lifestyle excites you.  You consider a job a failure if blood is shed or you are discovered.

The Burglar's Art

You are a highly specialized form of Criminal- and you are proud of it.  Among the Thieves' and Fencing Guilds, you are known as a Burglar- someone who knows how to use stealth and tools to take valuables.  You consider these skills as "fine art" and measure the success of a job by a clean and efficient execution without discovery.  Many Burglars may specialize in the purloining of certain items- jewels, money, relics, etc.  While others focus on the execution of the job flawlessly.

Feature: The Calling Card

Burglary is an art, and every great Burglar has a "signature" or a "calling card" to boast of their exploits.  To those in the know, reputation and respect is given to a Burglar on a successful job who leaves their calling card.  A calling card can be anything- a trinket, a piece of origami, a coin, a poem.  Burglars also delight in the angst this causes any City Watch, personal guard or private investigator who must try to glean who the true character is behind a calling card.

The more a skilled Burglar eludes authorities and plies their trade, the more their reputation grows.  A Burglar can become a small celebrity- or even a legend- among their kind and may find easy protection, eager business and willing contacts with those of their ilk.
